My Lockdown Diary

A Christchurch artist has created a fantastic children's lockdown diary which offers daily activities for children to keep a positive record of their experiences during the month-long lockdown. The diary contains 28 pages of activities and can be downloaded and printed at home and completed on paper with pencils, pens or crayons.

Arahoe School students can then opt to have page/s from their lockdown diary considered for inclusion in our 2020 yearbook. Simply bring your lockdown diary back to school when school opens again and give to your teacher. A selection of pages from different students across Years 1 - 6 will be included.

To download the lockdown diary visit: mylockdowndiary.com

For more information about the lockdown diary please visit: Stuff.co.nz

No printer at home? No problem! My Lockdown Diary can also be downloaded in Powerpoint and completed on the computer and printed later. You can also open the file in Google Slides. Very cool!
From Stephen McCarthy, My Lockdown Diary artist:
"Children sometimes find it hard to talk about what they're feeling and drawing is a way of accessing that. Get the crayons out, do something tangible and away from digital distractions." For parents it was good to see through a child's eyes, to get their perspective, because "sometimes they see things in a different, unclouded way". / Source: Stuff.co.nz

ARAHOE SCHOOL

EMPOWERING OUR LEARNERS TO ACCESS THEIR FUTURE

Welcome to Arahoe School

Arahoe School first opened with four classrooms in 1958 to provide for the growing urban population between New Lynn and Green Bay. During the subsequent years our school has grown considerably and now has a student population of just over 800.

At the heart of our school are our people. Our school community is a vibrant, dynamic and supportive one. Examples of this can be found in our talented Board of Trustees, Arahoe School Community Group (ACG), our highly professional staff and that which makes us unique, our wonderful students.

I hope you enjoy browsing our website and ultimately, being part of the Arahoe School community.
