Keeping Ourselves Safe
Every year Arahoe hosts a number of international student groups. We manage finding students host families, providing quality English Language instruction, and integrating students within a typical New Zealand classroom for complete English Language immersion. All in all, it's an experience that international students will remember for years to come.
Why You Should Come to Us
Our standards are high and we aim to be the best that we can be. We promote, expect, and achieve excellence. Children's talents and interests are promoted and extended through class programmes and the programmes of extra-curricular activity.
Our School
Only six hundred children, from a mixed socio-economic group, attend the school. The school boasts extensive resources, especially in the area of ICT, that ensure that all students have the opportunity to access their future. Teachers deliver high quality learning experiences to all pupils. The school caters for excellence in all areas and enrols children aged from five to eleven years.
Where Are We?
Our school is only 20 minutes from downtown Auckland, New Zealand's largest city of approximately one million people. Arahoe School is in an ideal setting, set on a sun-drenched plateau above the New Lynn shopping precinct. New Lynn is a suburb in Waitakere City, part of the greater Auckland region. This is a picturesque part of Auckland dominated by the Waitakere Ranges and its forest parks, the Manukau Harbour and the West Coast beaches. This area is well known for its scenic beauty, bush walks and surfing.
English Language Teaching
We provide excellence in the teaching of English and offer specialist English tuition, immersing children in the language by placing them into classes with New Zealand pupils, where they only speak the English language.
We also host short stay tour groups looking for an educational experience in a New Zealand primary school. These groups are catered for, in specially arranged teaching programmes, with children being integrated into classes with New Zealand pupils for part of each day.
